Outside Durability:

The Rusteaka Collection is made from reclaimed teak wood. Teakwood has a naturally high oil content, which makes it both stable and resistant to rotting when exposed, over many years, to the extremes of both summer and winter weather.  For several centuries, these special qualities have made teakwood the preferred choice for marine decking and construction.   Teak wood today is considered the premium choice for outdoor furniture.

The collection can be ordered either raw with no stain or with a chocolate stain color.  If it is purchased with a stain, we suggest applying a product like Minwax protective coating:  http://www.minwax.com/products/exterior_clear_protective_finishes/clear_shield.html  

Note: Even with the Minwax sealer, we recommend that this furniture be not exposed to the elements at all times.  If it is exposed, the stain will eventually fade.  The quickness of fading will depend upon the intensity of the outside elements.  For best long term results to keep the furniture looking new, we suggest placing this furniture in a covered area out of direct contact with the elements.  For best results we suggest purchasing the Rusteaka Collection with no stain at all and letting it fade to a grey patina.
